Comma – Tanda Baca Koma (,) – PART 1

.

Kapan tanda baca koma (,) digunakan? Ini dia jawabannya :

1. Ketika dua independent clause digabung dengan satu coordinative conjunctions (for, and, nor, but, or, yet) gunakan koma sebelum coordinative conjunctions-nya.

Contoh :

  • The airplanes were built for acrobatics, and the pilots were highly skilled.
  • You love me, but I do not love you.

(Ving)

Contoh :

  • Driving as quickly as they could, Bill and Kathy arrived just in time to pick me up.
  • Being hungry, Jimmy went to a restaurant.

Contoh :

  • Although the movie was boring, we stayed until the end.
  • If you keep criticizing me, I will ignore you.

4.  Koma digunakan untuk memisahkan beberapa kata-kata pembuka seperti No, Yes, Oh, Ah, atau well, dll.

Contoh :

  • No, I can’t imagine why Stacy did this to us.
  • Well, you may have another piece of candy if you will brush your teeth afterward.

Contoh :

  • You are counting on me, aren’t you?
  • That concert was incredible, don’t you think?

1.    I have learned many books, but I can’t speak English fluently.
2.    Having breakfast, he went to school.
3.    If you want to be rich, you should work harder.
4.    Do you speak English? Yes, I do.
5.    You love this story, don’t you?

can you find the funny part of this story?

FIRST JOB

"A young family moved into a house, next to a vacant lot.
One day, a construction crew turned up to start building a house on the empty lot.
The young family's 5-year-old daughter naturally took an interest in all the activity going on next door and spent much of each day observing the workers.
Eventually the construction crew, all of them "gems-in-the-rough," more or less, adopted her as a kind of project mascot.
They chatted with her, let her sit with them while they had coffee and lunch breaks and gave her little jobs to do here and there to make her feel important.
At the end of the first week, they even presented her with a pay envelope containing ten dollars.
The little girl took this home to her mother who suggested that she take her ten dollars "pay" she'd received to the bank the next day to start a savings account.
When the girl and her mom got to the bank, the teller was equally impressed and asked the little girl how she had come by her very own pay check at such a young age.
The little girl proudly replied, "I worked last week with a real construction crew building the new house next door to us."
"Oh my goodness gracious," said the teller, and will you be working on the house again this week, too?"
The little girl replied, "I will, if those as*!#!es at Home Depot ever deliver the fu*#'ng sheet rock..."

5 ways to develop critical thinking in ICT

How do you encourage pupils and students to think critically in the context of educational technology? Although we can devote a lot of time and energy to setting up the "right environment", I can't help thinking that really it all comes down to some pretty simple questions, and very straightforward approaches. Suspect everyone and everything! as a general rule, the teacher needs to encourage a critical approach by walking the talk. That means being open to an other-than-expected answer from students. All too often, a teacher will ask a question, and go round the class until they get the "right" answer.  To take a really simple example, if you ask a class what sort of software you would use to write a letter, how do you respond to a child who answers "a spreadsheet"? It would be good to know why they think that. It could be a lack of knowledge, or it could be a completely mistaken set of assumptions. On the other hand, it could be a logical idea.
